July 22nd - St. Mary Magdalene

Fr. Michael MachacekNativity of Our LordJuly 22, 2022
unlockPublic

today's readings are Song of Songs 3 or 2 Cor. 5; Psalm 63 and John 20

Today the universal church celebrates the feast of undoubtedly the most famous of Jesus' disciples, Mary Magdalane, whose encounter with the risen Lord, depicted above, is also the basis of today's gospel reading.

It is agreed that Mary is named after the area she was from, Magdala, which is on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, just north of the modern city of Tiberias.

For the rest of today's reflection, I direct you to the excellent summary of St. Mary Magadalene by the FaithND website
