There are many things we encounter when we are very young that we do not understand. As the years pass and we (hopefully) grow in wisdom, we understand more and more. But there are many things we may never know in this lifetime, unless the Holy Spirit chooses to reveal it to us.
Jesus tells the disciples that at this time there is so much more He could tell them, but they are not ready for it. But the Holy Spirit will lead them into the fullness of truth. One thing though. When the Spirit comes, it won't be as though He will "turn on a light bulb" for them and now they will know everything, but He will be with them as they continue to journey on their path of faith.
We are on a journey. And the Spirit is with us. Let us pray for the openness to the Spirit so that we may also journey into the fullness of truth.
