today's other readings are Acts 20: 17-27 and Psalm 68

We have now reached the final week of the Easter season, and we look forward with great anticipation to Pentecost this weekend.  

In this final week we also wrap up our readings from the Acts of the Apostles as well as the Last Supper Discourse of Jesus.

At this point, Jesus no longer speaks directly to the Apostles, but to the Father, with the Apostles, who are present, being able to hear His words.  

This entire chapter has a keen sense of earnestness as our Saviour pours out His heart, so to speak.  

I find Chapter 17 quite moving as we witness this very personal prayer.  

Which brings up a question - when was the last time you prayed earnestly to God?
